The moments

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

When ever the girls, Jo and Addy, do something particularly funny, smart, or cute.  I always think I’ll never forget that.  Then when I try yo recall it a day later no luck.  Sometimes weeks will go by and I’ll remember what they did and start laughing.

Right now Addy is very good about saying “please”.  However, I think she might think the use of the work please should always be rewarded with the object of her desire.

Poor Addy and Rika

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Addy is having a bad night again after a horrible night last night sleeping.  We think she is getting a monster tooth but who knows.  She has picked this time to only want her mama.  I feel horrible for Rika.  She is so good to her girls.  I wish Addy would let me settle her down.

Long time no post

Friday, February 29th, 2008

I seem to be supper busy right now.  Spending time with the girls, running, and working (in order of preference) has taken most of my time.  Jo and Addy are doing great.  You can’t tell Rika had a baby a 2.5 months ago.  I’m in fair shape, but not as fast as I’d like to be running.

Jo had a check up at the doctors last week and Addy came for moral support.  She is a really good big sister when she is not trying to make Jo dance while she is sleeping.

I downloaded a song called code monkey from Jonathan Coulton which all mediocre programmers  should listen too.  The clasic line in it is “write your own damn login page” and “functional but not elegant”.  Jo get it for Kaj!

It is already March, and I’m not sure where the time went.   It makes me miss the moments with Jo and Addy when I realize  how fast our lifes pass us by.  I’ve got to get on a plane but I’ll attempt to keep up on this blogging thing a bit better.

Visit from Bampi and Ginna

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Rika’s Dad and Ginna paid us a visit this weekend. It was fun to have them and we appreciated all the help. Addy loves an audience so she enjoyed having them around. Josephine continues to be a big eater and puts frat boys to shame with her belching. We are very impressed that she belches while nursing.

-She has learned several new words this weekend:

Baby (which she emphasizes each sylabel for)

Down

Cheese

-Addy has also become very fond of washing her hands. When she is outside it is a useful incentive to get her to come inside.

-Addy used her potty for the first time this morning. She heard me in the bathroom and Rika asked her if she wanted to sit on the potty she said yes. She came in and I took off her diaper and about two pages into her toilet reading I heard her going pee. We cheered and she seemed really proud. We know we are starting her earl, but she seems to be interested in it.

Josephine has gone out in the world some more and has slept mostly. She is none too fond of the car seat. Hopefully on long trips Addy can entertain her.

Bampi and Jo

Sorry for the delay… Here are the pics of our first few days with Jo, Joey, Josephine, Phina

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

We are staying close to home enjoying time with both Jo and Addy together. My mom is here to help out and has been a champ at the dishes, laundry and entertaining Addy. She really came through. Jo has no trouble eating and pretty much only wakes up to accomplish said task. I doubt Rika will look like she had a baby in 2 more days. It is already difficult to tell. I’ll post more when the wee ones are asleep… oh yeah Jo slept through her blood draw today where they poke the heel of her foot to extract blood.

We are back home

Monday, December 17th, 2007

We just got back home from the Hospital. Baby Josephine and Adelaide rode in the back seat together. Addy kept pointing to Jo everytime she made a sound.

Josephine is a good eater and is now asleep. Addy is fighting her nap. It is nice to be home and we are so thankful to all our friends for pitching in to help us while we were at the hospital.

-More soon…

Addy did this on her own. The title is not a misprint, Addy can’t say the ‘H’ sound yet. The object she is stuck in is Brisbane’s dog bowl elevator.
